

Fugitive Captured
South Charleston, West Virginia – On February 9, 2009, Senior Trooper J. R. Baker
and Trooper L. W. Price of the South Charleston Detachment of the West Virginia
State Police received information concerning the possible location of a fugitive
from Pennsylvania. The Troopers proceeded to Patterson Road in Elkview, West
Virginia, in an attempt to locate Mr. Dewayne Armand Weir, 39 years of age, from
Columbia, Pennsylvania . Mr. Weir was wanted for numerous crimes and considered
to be armed and dangerous.
Mr. Weir was apprehended in a camping trailer located approximately six miles
beyond the end of Patterson Road . A search of the camping trailer and area led
to the recovery of a stolen vehicle from Pennsylvania, several loaded firearms,
and $34,940.00 in U.S. currency. Mr. Weir was transported to the South Central
Regional Jail where he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania.
