Meth Lab Discovered in Kanawha County

CROSS LANES – Troopers from the South Charleston State Police Detachment discovered a methamphetamine lab at a Cross Lanes residence last night.

Troopers went to the Rocky Fork Road residence in search of Dowell W. Norris, 37, a fugitive from Putnam County.  Norris was eventually located hiding inside a closet.  While in the process of looking for Norris, Troopers discovered numerous materials used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.  A search warrant was obtained on the residence and the evidence was seized.  A stolen vehicle was also recovered at the scene.

Troopers arrested Norris on the fugitive from justice warrant and Steve Hammon, 25, on an outstanding warrant for a domestic violence petition violation.  Charges are pending regarding the discovery of the meth lab.
