Invitation to the Media

South Charleston , West Virginia – Lt. R. Patterson, the West Virginia State Police Recruiting Coordinator, cordially invites members of the media to participate in the testing cycle for the 60th Cadet Class on Friday, February 6, 2009, beginning at 9:00am, at the West Virginia State Police Academy, in Dunbar, West Virginia. Media outlets that are looking for the opportunity to report on recruitment, retention, and issues related to protected classes are encouraged to attend and participate in the events. The events will include both a written and a physical agility examination. Media representatives may participate, if they choose, in one or both events in order to gain a better understanding of the testing procedures and requirements to become a West Virginia State Trooper. Participation in an event is not a requirement to attend and document the process. Those participating in the events are encouraged to bring additional personnel and electronic equipment as necessary to document their efforts.
