Drug Arrests Made in Nicholas County


NICHOLAS COUNTY – On Wednesday, July 9, 2003, Troopers from the Summersville Detachment in Nicholas County served numerous warrants on subjects involved in the delivery and possession of OxyContin and methamphetamine.

Trooper First Class B. K. Cochran and Senior Trooper J. E. Davis obtained warrants on 20 individuals from the Richwood/Nicholas County area for 38 different charges. On Wednesday, 12 of the individuals were located and arrested on 25 drug related charges. Cash and drugs were also seized as a result of the arrests. More arrests are forthcoming.

The suspects arrested are listed below:

Flavey Dick, 27, of Richwood
Connie Beale, 31, of Camden-on-Gauley
Franklin Bragg, 50, of Camden-on-Gauley
Josh Gwinn, 25, of Craigsville
Nolan Albert, 27, of Richwood
Bill Akers, 34, of Birch River
Sandy Sparks, 44, of Richwood
Brian Snodgress, 36, of Richwood
William Fletcher, 47 of Camden-on-Gauley
Kevin Clevenger, 49, of Richwood
Norma Clevenger, 49, of Richwood

As a result of the investigation, Randy Greene, age unknown, of Richwood, was indicted in federal court on five drug related charges.

These arrests were made on the heels of an investigation by the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office of a Craigsville woman who sold her son for $500 so she could buy OxyContin.
