

Bank Robbery Suspect Apprehended
PENDLETON COUNTY – A man accused of the robbing the North Fork Branch of Grant County Bank today was arrested a short time later and charged with armed robbery.
Troopers were notified at 12:03pm by means of a hold-up alarm from the bank. First Sergeant J. A. Wise of the Elkins Detachment of the West Virginia State Police arrived at the bank at 12:08pm. The suspect had already fled the scene.
The investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the bank, brandished a pistol and fled with an undisclosed amount of US currency. The suspect was believed to be Mark S. Long, 19, of Circleville, WV. Law enforcement in the area was advised to be on the lookout for the suspect.
At 4:30pm, Troopers received a tip that the suspect was seen walking along Snowy Mountain Road, approximately 8 miles from the scene. Mr. Long was arrested and taken into custody at 5:15pm and charged with armed robbery. He was issued a $400,000 bond and transported to Potomac Highlands Regional Jail.
