“State Troopers for the WV Needy” Campaign Set to Begin

SOUTH CHARLESTON – The 17th annual “State Troopers for the WV Needy” campaign is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 17, 2006. The yearly event normally coincides with the Salvation Army’s “Kettle Kick-Off” as part of a joint effort to provide the less fortunate citizens of West Virginia an opportunity to have a joyful holiday season.

During the 30-day drive, Salvation Army barrels will be available to the public in every State Police Detachment in the state. West Virginians are encouraged to donate new toys and non-perishable canned food items, which will be collected by volunteers of the Salvation Army and distributed to needy families. Anyone in need this holiday season should contact his or her local Salvation Army office to be placed on the distribution list.
